It is well known that in most business arenas, the cost of correcting an issue is many times the cost of preventing it. Looming problems can go undetected or be ignored because the project team has faith that if they just follow the plan the benefits will materialise. At an enterprise level, conducting checks on a sample of projects enables common issues and non-compliance to be captured and resolved in a cost-effective way and applied to future projects.
A project audit (Project Health Check) provides an opportunity to uncover any issues, concerns or challenges that are or may be encountered in the execution of a project. It provides the Executive, the Project Sponsor and the Project Manager an interim view of what has gone well and what needs to be improved within the project. If done at the close of a project, an audit can be used to develop success criteria for future projects. This review will provide an opportunity to learn what elements of the project were successfully managed and which ones presented some challenges. QTC is available to travel to your location to undertake project audits/health checks.
